Tampa Real Estate Market — 5th Most Searched in the U.S.

Out of the 146 metro markets being tracked by realtor.com, which is the official website of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), the Tampa real estate market was again the fifth most searched metro property market in the U.S. in March 2012. Across Florida, the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater area was the most searched.

Here are the 10 most searched metro markets in the country in March 2012, based on home searches on realtor.com:

Among Florida real estate markets, the 10 most searched metro markets in March 2012, based on realtor.com website searches, were the following:

1.   Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Florida
2.   Orlando, Florida
3.   West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, Florida
4.   Fort Lauderdale, Florida
5.   Miami, Florida
6.   Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida

Realtor.com tracked real estate searches by counting zip codes, cities, or neighborhoods entered by prospective real estate buyers on realtor.com.

The Google keyword tool also shows the popularity of Tampa real estate among potential homebuyers. The total of global monthly searches for Tampa real estate has been among the highest in Florida over the past several months. Its closest competitors are Miami, Orlando, and Sarasota.

Real estate analysts say that prospective home buyers and real estate investors across the U.S.and around the world are interested in Tampa and in other cities of Florida because of the attractive prices of real properties in the state. They constantly hear of great deals that can be enjoyed by people with money to invest.

Of the 10 most searched metro markets, the Tampa real estate market posted the third lowest median list price in March, which was $147,500, far lower than the median list price in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area, which was $329,000.

In addition to these great pricing deals, Florida has, for years, a favorite destination for people from around the world because of its magnificent beaches, lovely weather, historic districts, theme parks, exquisite towns and golf resorts.
