Tampa International Airport Boosts Tampa Bay Real Estate Market
Published by nora | Filed under Buyer / Seller Tips, Miscellaneous, Real Estate
The Tampa International Airport has been a great driver of positive developments in the Tampa Bay real estate market. Commercial and residential real estate sales have been directly and indirectly driven by the presence of the airport.
Solstice Sleep Products
Recently, Solstice Sleep Products, a Columbus, Ohio-based producer of mattresses and other sleep products, chose Tampa as a location for its second facility in the area in large part due to the presence of the Tampa airport. Solstice needs the airport for the distribution of its products throughout Florida and the Southeast region and for the facilitation of corporate management visits. The Port of Tampa is also a great complement to the airport as it helps Solstice receive delivery of imported futons, pillows and convertible sofas.
The Solstice expansion also meant the use of 90,000 square feet of Tampa industrial real estate on South Falkenburg Road. This space is part of a vacant 206,900-square-foot former factory that is expected to pick up leasing due to Solstice’s recent occupancy, and to further boost the Tampa Bay real estate market.
Flights to Cuba
The charter air services between Tampa International Airport and the Cuban cities of Havana and Holguin are also expected to help the Tampa Bay’s economy. The services are run by ABC Charters and operated by American Airlines, which are using its 757 aircraft for these flights. Tampa will benefit from these flights as it’s one of only two U.S. cities that have flights to Cuba.
TPA is the Sixth Most Loved Airport in the World
The Tampa airport has been cited as the world’s sixth most loved airport by CNN International’s travel website CNNgo.com. This ranking is significant, as it’s a result of voting from the travelers themselves. It’s an affirmation of the other numerous awards and recognition received by the airport from award-giving bodies such as J.D. Powers and Associates and the Air Transport Research Society.
TPA is well-known for its efficiency and its staff’s warm service. Parking, restaurants, shops, rest areas, accessibility, mobile information service, auto detailing – these all contribute to make travel as pleasant as possible for customers.
Nonstop Flights to Zurich, Switzerland
Edelweiss Air launched its twice-a-week nonstop flights to Zurich from Tampa and vice versa in May this year, assigning a 332-seat Airbus A330 for the service. These flights will certainly create jobs and bring millions of dollars into the city.
Indeed, with all the direct and indirect benefits to the city, the popularity of Tampa International Airport to business travelers, tourists and residents is a big boost to the Tampa Bay real estate market.
