Pinellas Point Homes for sale - Pinellas Point: "The
Pink Streets"
The southernmost
residential area of Pinellas County, Greater Pinellas Point,
was first developed in the late 1920’s when ferry service
began running back and forth between Pinellas and Manatee
Counties. The earliest developed portion of Greater Pinellas
Point is called “the Pink Streets.” The Pink Streets
were developed by George E. Cook and given their name for
the pink concrete that he used to pour the well-known and
exclusive streets. These winding pink streets are veiled in
mature landscape and Florida’s famous Live Oaks. The
rest of Greater Pinellas point was developed between 1950s
and the 1970s.
