Allendale

but one of the most prestigious non-waterfront addresses in
St. Petersburg. The Allendale area is characterized by mature
oak trees growing over brick streets. The area is home to
some of St. Petersburg most historic and unique estate homes.

Allendale was developed by a man named Cade B. Allen. Allen
purchased 160 acres of “high and dry” land to
develop which was unusual at that time since all the notable
developers of that era focused solely on waterfront developments.
Allendale was built in a few stages. The first 70 homes were
built in the pre World War II real estate boom. There were
about 180+ homes built from the start of World War II through
the 1950’s. Then there were about 50 to 60 more homes
built in the area over the last 47 years.
