Problems With Shoreline Real Estate
Published by julia | Filed under Buyer / Seller Tips, Market Trends, Real Estate
Shoreline and beach real estate is known as the prime real estate for its amazing views and instant access to the beaches and shores surrounding lakes and oceans. This is the version of the perfect home that so many people hold onto as life lines in a sea of difficulties. When they think of shoreline or beach real estate, they often see only great views, plenty of time on the beach sunbathing, and peaceful dinners set to beautiful sunsets.
Unfortunately, the reality is hardly the fantasy that people hold so dear to their heart. There are many different downsides to living on the shoreline and having a home right on the beach or beach front. The visions of quiet beaches without intruding people, is often not quite up to what one would expect. A beach or shoreline is often not as clean as one would like and there can be serious issues with the smells of the beach.Beach front properties often have “private” beaches. These beaches stretch from property line to property line and are considered part of the home. This makes it illegal for people to trespass onto this beach lot. Unfortunately, many of these private beaches are not as well enforced on the trespassing law that people would like. There are often people who are visiting the beach either not realizing that it is a private beach or not caring about the private real estate. This can greatly impair the privacy in the real estate as well since there can be people wandering the property and security can be impaired as people wander around at night.
While the public beach is regularly cleaned by life guards and other park rangers, private beaches have to be cleaned by the beach owner. This can mean picking up the dead fish, birds, possible mammals, and the water weeds. In addition trash and debris can be washed ashore and to keep the beach real estate looking nice, the beach needs to be cleaned regularly.
The water that is at the shore line can have a scent to it. This is because of the decaying debris, creatures, and plant life. This scent can permeate all though out the shoreline real estate. This scent can be in every room and become very unappealing and is one of the most common reasons that people leave their shoreline real estate.
