What Sources can be Believed with Information

Is the Media really giving us the full story?
700 Billion. 3 Trillion. 9 %. 15%. These are numbers that we hear fairly often these days. The first 2 deal with the ‘Bailout’ and the next 2 deal with the unemployment rates in the states hit the hardest by this recession. But which ones are factual? Are either one even close? Who do we get this information?
The answer is simple-the media. FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC, etc… reports things differently, and have their own agendas it would seem. The figures we need to know are the actual, factual ones. One has to weed thru all of the information and misinformation that we are bombarded with every day.
We know what areas of our markets are viable and strong. It is fairly easy to see if your neighborhood has a better than average record just by looking at the homes for sale. The ‘For Sale’ signs usually won’t stay in the front yard very long if the area is getting stronger. And the unemployed numbers will be down if the same is true for the business sector.
The point is that the media is now sugar-coating the facts to ease the blow of this depression/recession that we are in. As much as we want them to tell us the whole truth, they seem to think that John Q. Public can’t handle the truth. Why not? Have we gone beyond the point of realization?
Maybe not totally past the point, but we have been on a downward spiral for awhile. We can get back on track, but it requires a new level of consciousness. Having the ability to read between the lines blurted from the teleprompter by your favorite news reporter is what we need. When they say things are looking up, they mean that some poll or survey has shown that things aren’t any worse. If it isn’t worse, then it must be better. It isn’t news if it is the same.
The time has come to reach this new level of realization, this new consciousness. This isn’t a new yoga exercise or mind altering drug, but rather an awakening to the truths before us. The actual numbers are out there, it just takes some effort beyond opening the newspaper or the news section on the homepage on the internet.
Information and truth is powerful. Having truthful information is the ultimate power. Having it will open your eyes to a new way of seeing things. You will find that not everything is bad. There are great truths to be discovered. Just don’t be afraid to explore for more.
But you have to be careful where you look. The major news reporting websites do not necessarily have the most factual info. In fact, there is probably a lot of left and right rhetoric that has no actual bearing on our lives at all. Use your best judgment. Your instincts should guide you in the right direction.
Happy exploring! You will either be amazed or appalled or both. The most enjoyable part of it all is that you will be seeing things in a different light than the usual political slant portrayed by mainstream media. Enjoy!!!
