Tampa considered 4th most popular city

Published by peter | Filed under Communities, Market Trends, Real Estate

Who didn’t want to be the popular kid in school…the one with all the cool friends and good-looking dates (I actually made it on to Homecoming Court in high school, but that was more because of all the activities I did and little to do with the looks of my dates — lol).  Anyway, you may have not been voted most likely to succeed in high school, but you’re hanging out with all the cool kids: Tampa just got voted the 4th most popular city to live in a poll by The Pew Research Center y asking the question “Where would Americans most like to live—and how do they feel about the place they currently call home?”  Tampa ranked right up there with Denver, San Diego and Seattle.

Some interesting facts from the report:

  • People with family incomes over $100K placed Tampa 8th, while people with sub $30K incomes placed it 10th.
  • Men placed Tampa 7th, while women placed it 6th.
  • College grads placed Tampa 9th, while high school or less placed it 3rd.
  • Folks 18-34 placed Tampa 9th, while those 60+ placed it 6th.
  • Tampa had a pretty significant difference between Democrats and Republicans, with 38% of donkeys diggin’ it and only 28% of elephants.
