Lake Pasadena in of St. Petersburg Florida

lakepasadena.jpgThis Lake Pasadena neighborhood is located in the western part of St. Petersburg. The red brick streets are lined by oak trees and ornamental streetlights. There are two lakes in the neighborhood. In the eastern section is Lake Disston, the smaller of the two. Further west is Lake Pasadena which is approximately ¾ of a mile around the perimeter. People walking dogs or strollers with their children are a common site around the lake. Such a variety of wildlife make this lake their home.

Several species of birds can be seen on the island in the center of the lake. Most common are egrets, herons, and seagulls. Roseate spoonbills and an occasional pelican might be spotted, as well. The ducks at this lake never go hungry as there are always a number of neighbors offering their stale bread at the waters edge. From time to time, a friendly otter makes an appearance. He is always looking for a playmate in the dogs that are out for their afternoon walk. Joggers and bicyclists enjoy the peacefulness of a spin around this neighborhood.

The homes bordering the lake have the best views of the lakefront activity from their front porches and balconies. Most seem to enjoy decorating for the seasons which is a pleasure for those taking their evening strolls as dusk approaches. The location of this neighborhood is perfect! Minutes from the Gulf Beaches and Tyrone Shopping Mall make this a desirable area for many.
