Gated Communities
Published by julia | Filed under Communities, Real Estate
All over the state and the country, homes within gated communities are easily sold compared to lone-standing properties. But just what makes this type of residential communities popular among home buyers, particularly in Tampa?
Foremost consideration of every homeowner who buys into a gated community is security. With six-foot fences and controlled access, homeowners are assured that not just anybody can enter into the community. Most gated communities in Tampa and elsewhere also provide 24 hours of security, something that most residents pay hundreds of dollars for each month just to maintain. This way, it is not only security that is ensured but also privacy.
Another advantage of living inside gated communities is the availability of amenities otherwise not enjoyed by others living outside. One thing that Tampa has plenty to offer is water, and residents of gated communities have ample opportunities to enjoy water sports anytime they want to. Some gated communities, like Mira Bay in Hillsborough, are also strategically placed in man made canals that allow residents to dock their own boats right in their backyards and provide access to main bodies of water, a luxury unique only in Florida. For golfing enthusiasts, communities like Cheval and Carrollwood provide amenities for their favorite sport.
The desire to live in a community where neighbors share the same ideals and preferences is also one reason why a lot of homeowners prefer gated communities. An example of this is the preference of retired couples to live in maintenance-free communities in Tampa. The availability of open spaces to move about, like that of Covington Park in Apollo Beach, and fitness centers like one in Arbor Greene are also prime considerations of health-conscious individuals and may be one of the major reasons for buying into these communities.
And lastly, gated communities are always perceived as perfect settings to raise families in. Most of the residents of these communities are couples with young children who go to nearby schools. Living inside a secure facility, where neighbors are more or less of the same social class, and children are free to go out in the streets and play are some of the important features that all parents look for. Most gated communities in Tampa also has these in mind, and even add in several sporting facilities and social venues just to meet the standard perception of a community that is perfect to live in.

this is a great post. gated communities in michigan in my opinion are viewed similar in that they do not want to have to worry about their kids playing in the street and getting hit by someone. great post.
