Feng Shui Real Estate: Tips to Keep Your House Balanced
Published by julia | Filed under Buyer / Seller Tips, Feng Shui Real Estate, Miscellaneous, Real Estate
Here’s a brief background on the Origins of Feng Shui
A home with good feng shui is not that difficult to have. Feng shui principles should already be taken into consideration because the construction of the house starts, that way, you will be able to know where to place the doors, the bathrooms, and the bedrooms properly. However, if you are already living in a built home, it is still not too late. You need to analyze the problems on your home and come up with the right diagnosis. Some considerations and tips you should follow include:
- Energy should flow freely on the house by entering the front door and then leaving at the back. Clutter and crannies in the home can cause the flow of energy inside the house to slow down and become unhealthy so you need to make your home feel clean and spacious.
- Energy should not quickly disappear. If the energy that enters your house leaves it almost immediately, it would do no good for you. Try to cover your door with screens if the front door is not impeded by anything on its way to the back.
- Busy streets and airports can cause energy to move so fast that it will not have time to enter your house. If you are located in this kind of areas, consider constructing a wall or planting tress to slow down the fast energy as well as screen out any negative energy that may result from it.
- Intersections can cause a lot of chi to be developed. If you have a front door located near an intersection, it can be assailed by massive amounts of energy making relaxation almost impossible for you. You need to use a mirror located at the front to deflect some of the energy that enters the house.
- Balance is important. Having balance in the home can give happiness as well as attractive design for the structure. Everything in the house, from the lamp poles to the small decorations inside will need to be balanced to produce the best benefit.
- Sharp edges should be softened. Sharp edges found in the house can cause negative and harmful energy to circulate in the home. It is important for you to minimize the impact of sharp edges by using plants and even statues.
- Furniture should encourage conversation and movement at the living room. Because the living room is considered to be a Yang area, you need to put Ying influences such as soft cushions, plants, and even a fish tank to achieve balance.
- The foot of the bed should not be placed in a direct linear line to any doors. In ancient China, the dead were laid out with their feet facing the door so that they can have an easier access to heaven.
- Mirrors should not be placed in front of a bed. When people sleep, their spirits leave their bodies and the spirit may get upset when it sees its reflection.
- Yang elements should be used in the bathroom. The bathroom is actually the most Ying area of the house because water is abundant here. Balancing the bathroom by placing Yang elements like candles and bright colors is recommended.
